Guess what? In addition to flyin' planes n writin' novels, Cap'n Aux likes to doodle! Here's some of my best (my opinion, lol!) . . .
I got the inspiration for this following cartoon from the Talking Heads song, "Moonrock," in which I—mistakenly—thought the lyrics were, "I got a rock in my boot!"
"Designated DRUNK driver." |
"Close Encounters of the FOURTH kind." |
Sometimes I think my cartoons are a bit too subtle for most people. The following was inspired by Truman's famous desk sign, "The Buck Stops Here"—as in, no more "passing the buck," lay the blame on me! But for greedy corporate CEO's . . .
"The BUCKS (plural) stop here." |
"Pilot Recycling" program. Get it? |
"Due to my brilliant powers of deduction, I have determined that the murderer is . . ." |
I always thought those NEED HELP! signs in cars were stupid. But I could use this one! |
WARNING! F-BOMB AHEAD!
If you're offended, or the kiddies are watching, skip the next cartoon!
A long time ago, I found a funny set of mock airline briefing cards that I thought I'd share with you. I didn't draw or make them, but enjoy!
And finally, here's a recent cartoon I drew for my vid, "Zen and the Art of Landing."
Just for fun, here's the vid!:

My parents always encouraged me in everything I did, from flying to writing and drawing. And they had a wonderful sense of humor!

See? Right down below this line!
Fun stuff!!!! Another notch in the belt of the already very talented Cap'n Aux :)
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks, Mark! It was fun digging out the "archives" and uploading them!
DeleteI have a whole slew of home made Valentine's cards—all somewhat—er, "risqué," that I was hoping to include...have yet to find them, so that'll have to wait for another post!
Haha I found these really funny. I especially liked the safety card captions... hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWhat other unknown talents do you have haha?... there can't be too many more out there!
Cool post, put a smile on my face,
-Swayne
Well I can't claim to have drawn the safety cards, but I do find them hysterical. I used to have them printed up in one card and always handed them to our jumpseater as a "briefing." Always got a laugh!
DeleteYou're talented too, Swayne. Love your videos! ;-)
(check him out at martinsaviation.blogspot.com!)
Wow Aux! I had no idea you could do art too! You are a man of many talents. I would be happy just be able to write without the typos! Great post! I laughed most of the way through, especially the video - well done my friend!
ReplyDeleteBrent
Oh, glad you got to see "Zen and the Art of Landing." One of my fav's!
DeleteThanks, I've been doodling since drawing P-51s dogfighing Zeroes during 1st grad with my buddy Alan, lol!
Thanks for the comment, Brent!
I guess the threat of furlough has cultivated a rich diversity of talents among many pilots - I don't think I've read a single pilot's blog where the author doesn't have at least 3 additional strings to his bow.....
ReplyDeleteLet that be a warning to you kids!!
(Great selection btw!!)
Dave (with no discernable talents!) from the UK :)
Haha Dave, well said! It's very true, the wise pilot has a backup career....sad to say, all my "talents" don't really add up to $$$—so far, LOL!
DeleteEric, these are awesome!! You have quite the talent for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteI love em.
Haha thanks Karlene! I doubt this would be a "fallback" career, but they're fun to draw! ;-)
DeleteThanks for postiing this
