TPA: Climbing out #1... |
TPA #2... |
TPA #3! |
ORD: Overflying from the east |
PHX: Best sunsets in the West! |
And a lovely view from atop the clouds! |

Sunset, 1/4 moon, pink contrail. Too cool!

DFW's thunderstorm gave us this molten sunset on arrival, after a 200nm diversion, and our ILS missed approach in PHL earlier for another t'storm. Long day, with a lovely ending... |
DEN: Arriving over the Front Range |
My vote for sunset pic of the year...though it may be a 3-way tie with the 1/4 moon pic and TPA #3! |
Meanwhile, back in the cockpit . . .
Always happy to see my FO and jumpseater diligently studying their "Flight Manuals"— in this case, my novel, The Last Bush Pilots! |
My favorite pic of 2013, so far . . .
Why my fav'? Those three tiny dots are: Mercury, Jupiter & Venus! |

And another beauty from the back recently, captured by our Flight Attendant Erin M!

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Justin! Glad you like the pics!
DeleteAnd just so everybody's clear, Justin is our "Hero" that has his own blog, at http://standingtalll.blogspot.com/
Thanks so much Eric, honored to be a part of another post!
ReplyDeleteI really love seeing pics of contrails from the cockpit. I think it's amazing, the idea of flying through another plane's path so directly that you fly through their contrail. I think I've seen a photo from your where you flew down a contrail pretty directly. Maybe you have some more for part 2?
Thanks for this awesome view, inspiring to see the office I hope to be in one day!
-Swayne Martin
Thanks for reminding me, Swayne, you're right! I'll look for that pic and update this post with it! I hope you get some hits from the mention of your vid and blog in this post...you deserve it!! :-)
DeleteFantastic photos my friend! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteRyan
Thanks, Ryan! Coming from you...HIGH PRAISE!! You are the BEST aviation photographer I know!! I got a little behind on your pic posts on your blog, but I can see you have posted some STELLAR stuff lately!
DeleteAwesome pictures!! You certainly do have the best office view in all the world!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Cappy......there is nothing like going down 'memory land'......with these kinds of scenes........!!...So unbelievable these shots, I'll take your 'reruns' anyday......!!Especially.....the one on taxi...with the sun going down....and the plane's....shaddow.....long and lovely!!
ReplyDeleteand Yes Bravo to Justin....starting his own blog.......I joined just now.....thats what we need in this crazy world....people who do the "Right" thing.....instead of the crappola that seems to never end....!!
another congrat to Dwight as well......being a 'Hero' doesn't get ya very far.......when it comes to the news coverage.....and that is a shame.....!!
Just keep flying high......Cappy......and we'll keep following along while you paint the sky for us.......!!!
Yes, these posts are relatively easy--just let the pictures do the talking, lol!
DeleteJustin's blog is coming along nicely! He's getting into the grove of it, finding his own style, and has things to say--glad you joined!
We were able to celebrate Dwight's accomplishments on my FB page last month--so glad to give kudos where kudos is due! I just know he appreciates it!
Gonna paint you sky pictures as long as I can darling, whether with the camera or the pen!
Loved the pics ;).
ReplyDeleteThanks! And thanks for stopping by, Izdiher--always nice to see you here!
DeleteAll the pictures of planes are nice. Even the planes on runway or flying over the sky are presenting wonderful view which we can not forget it.
