WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CAP'N AUX?
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
This is crazy! An astute blog reader spotted me in a National Geographic documentary waltzing through security at some random airport (LAX, perhaps?) Another blog reader, Anthony G., found the vid as a download (since removed.)
SMILE, YOU'RE ON CANDID CAMERA! (I must be showing off my Thai watch, LOL!) |
I am on-screen at the 5:04 mark for all of 3 seconds, LOL!
Ironically, copyright protections keep me from posting a clip, but here's a couple more screen shots.
B-747-8: Airbus A-380's newest rival |
It's from the Nat Geo "Mega Factories" series, this episode about the making of the Boeing 747-8.
What I find most fascinating about this is:
—Some random guy was randomly filmed for a random TV show;
—A random viewer/blog reader in another part of the world recognizes said random guy and contacts him.
—Random guy writes a blog about it!
Lesson: This world is getting smaller—and more public—every day. (Think, "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.")
IN CONCLUSION:
—ALWAYS—
1.) brush your teeth,
2.) Wash behind your ears, and
3.) SMILE! 8^D
'Cause you never know when you're going to be on Candid Camera!

UP NEXT, POSTING THIS WEEK, 6/29 0000Zulu (6/28 1700 PHX):
A PILOT LOOKS AT 50
“I have spent over 2 solid years in the sky."
that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanna!
ReplyDeleteI just realized that you're the famous author of, "Daddy, Daddy, Come back!" It's a blog I've been meaning to view for some time, so thank you for posting...I'm checking it out now!
E
Famous?! Now, I am going to get a big head.
DeleteOMG...YOU ARE FAMOUS :D
ReplyDeleteYep...for 3 whole seconds! ;)
Deletehahaha nice nice i have another link if u needed to watch it :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Anthony, please share!
Deletehahahahah will do ill find it again ... question .. what do i have to do to get a jumpseat or be in the cockpit during flight to see everything in the making
DeleteWell, Post-90/11 strictly verboten! Now each pilot/official riding in the jumpseat has to be verified in the national "CASS" system--basically an electronic database of all pilots etc. employed and qualified to ride up front. You can still always say Hi during boarding or after flight though!
DeleteIf you know someone, maybe, just maybe, you can get a ride during a training flight or sim ride!
just maybe :) ... it sucks that no one in my family knows any pilots :( but thanks for the advice maybe one of these days when i go plane spotting ill see u land from the top of the kphx parking lot
DeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteWell, you have up to 15 minutes...so you got some time left for more fame. Brush your teeth...
LOL, I'm just glad I wasn't pickin' my nose!
DeleteOh Lordy! LOL!
DeleteCappie,
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to think you are my long-lost twin brother. Albeit a little older, we should not go to the bar together and play jokes on the waitress!
Ryan (ryanthepilot)
Haha, I think you may be right, "little brother!"
