A wise follower/fellow blogger soul suggested I “pace myself” on posting, so as to avoid “blogger burnout.”
But I wanna say it all now!!!!
So, tell ya what. Occasionally, to help feed your (and my) Cap’n Aux blog addiction, here’s a new, mini-blogpost - we'll call it an "Interlude" - to fill in the time between regular posts. (And believe, me, I got some humdingers up and coming for ya!)
To wit, Check this out:

"Tourists don't know where they've been. Travelers don't know where they're going."—Paul Theroux
Here's hoping you're always the latter, never the former.
And, when it comes to quotes, I always gotta quote my Main Man:
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain
Here's 50 more great Inspirational Travel quotes
And remember my motto:

Special thanks to fellow blogger Synz at From Sea To Summit for this link!
Hello Capnaux! Thank you so much for the mention.I appreciate it a lot. If you don't mind, I'll add you to my list of links. :) Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteYou bet! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteHey Cap'n, nice interlude!
ReplyDeleteJust returned from 2 weeks in the Maldives, not sure what category lying by the pool supping beers comes into but hey, it sure beats working!! :)
All the best!
Dave (slightly red) from the UK
Hey Dave,
DeleteI'm certainly NOT panning the occasional slacker/downtime/much-needed curling up with a good book on the beach/pool for a coupla weeks' vacation, lol!

ReplyDeleteTourist or traveller...sometimes you're one, sometimes you're the other. So long as you are enjoying yourself and you are creating new happy memories in your life.
Delete:)
The world's big enough for both.
Nice video...inspires you and encourages you!
Take care, Cap'n E
I love the video! I would consider myself a traveller. Definitely not a tourist. When I travel, I try to blend in as much as possible and do what the locals do.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great blogging and I hope you never get blogger burnout. We need your blog!
Haha me too, Matt!
DeleteThough I know I never will, I try to "blend" too! One of my fav' memories was being on Eurail dressed all French-like, and the conductor addressed me in French, to which I replied, "Huh?" then he answered in English. Was sooo proud of myself for fooling a local, lol!
Thank for the compliment. New post scheduled for tonight!
So then say it all "NOW"...
ReplyDeleteTraveler or Tourist........??
can't have one without the other......Give me my damn "I Love NY T-shirt"....
My "I Love Ottawa" Fridge magnet...........
and if you sold ....."I Heart Pilots" T-shirts or beany bags.......in the cockpit........I buy one of those too!!!!!
I tell ya Capt'n Eric.....when I was "TRAVELING"...in between Terminal buildings at the LaGuardia...not long ago...it could just have been mistaken for climbing Mount Everest......or deep in the "Bush".........with some of the challenges.....
so "TRAVELER"...."TOURIST"....."TRAVELER"......Suit each other..I believe..............
Don't missunderstand.............I THANK YOU" Captain........!!!!!
You see to it.......that the TOURIST in all of us.....folks...........get to be just that.....
TOURISTS!!!!
We have to be careful not to shoot off the hand that feeds ya.........and I mean No disrespect at all!!!.....
Life is our own..........Disneyland.....!!
YES INDEED......!!!
I still have to be measured if I'm tall enough for some rides..........doesn't stop me from trying to get em though........the Big Boy rides....HA!!
I Thank ya for this Interlude............A Pause in between........
Later now..........."Capt'n Neatfreak"......;))))))
MissTWA....
Ok, ok, I give! Y'all can be a TOURIST if'n you want!!
DeleteActually what we have here is a Failure to Communicate, I think. My bad.
In my head, "tourist" denotes the "Ugly American," taking a canned tour overseas, pampered all the way, doesn't really SEE the land they are touring; loudly complains that they don't make eggs n bacon like back home, and dammit, where's my COFFEE?! They GO, but they don't' EXPERIENCE.
All you guys visiting here, I think you travel to experience a culture, respect it, truly LEARN and open your eyes and mind to it!
And, YES you can have your damn I LOVE NY shirt!!!
(Actually my mementos from travels are often t-shirts, cause they pack well and you can use them while traveling!)
the T's...........
DeleteNot to mention if ya get lost in the Woods.....bonding with the
4-leg's wildlife........with out............Mmmmm
Where's my "I heart Pilot"...one.........LOLOLOL
Hey Capt'n.......didn't even mention.......
ReplyDeleteThere's an 'impatient' 'unruly'
'AW'....Pilot........holding up Pizza delivery.......see post......Think you could help a friend out............LOL........
Hahaha just saw it--too cute!
DeleteSorry been "off the grid" for a few. Catch up day today, MissTWA!
"Travellers don't know where they're going, tourists don't know where they've been."
ReplyDeleteWow, Anon, with one line you've hit the nail on the head of the point I'm trying to make!
DeleteThank you!!
(Just googled that quote: Thank you, Paul Theroux!)

DeleteGlad I could help! I never knew who said it, but I've stolen it many times. I spent the last few years exploring the back roads of E. Europe/N. Africa and the Near East and am overdue to start a blog on the traveller/tourist subject myself... usually if you have to explain it they'll never get it...
DeleteI checked your blog, and it looks awesome! Gonna sit down and read it asap...thanks BBM!
DeleteThanks! That makes you probably the second person to read it! Still in the test phase of where to take it...but like Lewis Carroll said:
Delete"If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there."
